WDIO highlighted the construction of 90 units of supportive housing coming to Duluth in 2026. GMHF contributed much-needed funding to support the development.

Essentia is expanding its role as a committed community anchor institution in Duluth and is currently partnering on three affordable housing developments.

The former hotel is being converted into permanent supportive housing for people formerly experiencing homelessness with support from Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

This is GMHF's third conversion of an historic school to affordable housing and adds 57 units of workforce housing and 7 units reserved for formerly homeless individuals or families.

The renovations were supported in part by $15.5 million in low-income housing tax credits issued by Minnesota Housing through a partnership with the Minnesota Equity Fund and with Cinnaire.
