Housing Justice Center brought a class action lawsuit against the apartment owners of Crossroads at Penn, now Concierge Apartments in Richfield.
A settlement awarded the displaced Crossroads tenants $650,000, with about $290,000 reserved for the tenants, and over $200,000 designated for the NOAH Impact Fund.
The $200,000 will be used to assist tenants in NOAH Impact Fund properties by offsetting the need for rent increases. While the lawsuit did not prevent the evictions, the owner had to pay $650,000 to settle the suit and must change his leasing practices.
NOAH Impact Fund will carefully manage the settlement funds according to the Court order.
