Lavonne age 59, walks back to her farmhouse to feed 29 cows and 30 heifers. Even a broken hip has not slowed her down. "I like the peace and quiet," says Lavonne, formerly of Minneapolis. "I love the wildlife that comes around, even those coyotes." Lavonne's great grandson, Brett, age 2, joins her for a trip to the barn. "He likes the barn," she says. "He's full of great big long questions and I try to give him great big long answers."
